It's Finished... Devlog #13


Josh and Max here, bringing you the finalized version of the Hunting Night project.

It's been roughly 6 months of us working on this game. We committed to this excercise in order to learn through experience how to make a full video game and sure enough it was just as if not even harder then what they all said it would be. It was still fun and satisfying to see it all come together in the end though, and we did learn a lot throughout the whole ordeal.

To tell the truth, the hardest issue to overcome was the burnout which set in just a month or two after beginning development. It's all well and good when you start out and have all sorts of ideas to put on the table, but when you have to start ironing things out partway into the process? It becomes a challenge to see it all the way through, oftentimes you'll be wanting to do anything else just to avoid doing the hard stuff for a little while longer.

In the end though, what's important is that we persevered and got the game done on schedule. In the future I think creating a full timetable to complete every single asset of the final game will go a long way towards preserving motivation throughout the experience. It may sound dull and boring but I've found that these things can really help with keeping progress flowing.
